The Country Gables Café restaurant opened up in July 1989 at the corner of Auburn Folsom and Douglas Blvd in Granite Bay CA. Owners Dana and Marie Miller, along with their daughter Kim, owned and operated the family tree Restaurant and Motel in Tahoe-City CA for over twenty years. They had the Granite Bay “Gables” for ten years, and later sold and relocated the restaurant to this current location in 1998 to old Roseville on Washington Blvd. Business was very good for the Millers and they enjoyed the many new friends that they made at Country Gables. The Country Gables Café got many “Best Breakfast” awards and TV recognition at our current location. The Millers sold the Country Gables restaurant to the Sander family in 2008. Sukhi, along with his wife Raji and daughter Preeti continued the success of the family restaurant until a fire in May 2009. It was a devastating loss for the Sander family and the community as well. So many people lost their favorite dining spot. Sukhi and his family worked hard to re-open another chapter in the history of the Country Gables Café. Sukhi says, “we hope everyone enjoys the new ‘old restaurant’ and we want to invite our new and previous customers back again. We are also going to be open for dinner with a wonderful new menu. So come see us soon, we are waiting to serve you.
